Thank you for attending our Fight for Literacy event. Photos will be posted soon.
Caroline Jane Knight joined us via zoom from Australia. Caroline is the last of Jane’s nieces to grow up in Chawton where Jane herself lived and wrote her most beloved works. Caroline brings Jane Austen’s world vividly to life through childhood memories and family stories passed down through generations. She will also relate her journey from family member to founder and champion of the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation.
Jennifer Sauter-Price, founder of Read Early and Daily (R.E.A.D.), spoke about R.E.A.D.’s mission and about their partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Through this initiative, every child in Arlington will be able to get a free book every month up to the age of 5 years.
